Leigh Hobbs: Characters from the Drawing Board
This exhibition takes a close look at some of Leigh Hobbs’ characters, in particular, Old Tom, Horrible Harriet and Mr Chicken.
A series of panels provide biographical information about Leigh, his art and the development of his characters.
A display of some treasures from Leigh’s studio including original sketches, sketch books and art materials and Illustrations of his famous book characters are presented as giclee prints.

an exhibition of book illustrations by Shaun Tan

This exhibition features a collection of limited edition prints of  illustrations from Shaun Tan’s best-known books including The Arrival, The Red Tree, The Lost Thing, The Singing Bones and Tales from the Inner City.  It celebrates his unique approach to storytelling through this selection of brilliant images, as varied and fascinating as their narratives.

ANZAC Illustrated
Many books have been published in Australia marking the centenary of the start of World War I in 1914 and the beginning of the ANZAC legend with the landing of Australian and New Zealand troups at Gallipoli in 1915.
This exhibition celebrates quite unique approaches to creating illustrated books for children on these themes.
There are all sorts of books including picture books for young and old, a graphic novel and illustrated fiction.
Thirteen illustrators are represented, with a feature on work by author/illustrator Mark Wilson, showing a range of books associated with different wars, from WW1 to Afganistan.
The themes and illustrated stories include two very famous songs, a couple of favourite ANZAC legends, a journal, and some fascinating historic adventures.
The original Illustration mediums and styles are varied and inspiring.
