It's a timely and uplifting picture book reflecting on the important things each of us can remember to do and share with one another.  Small things, like offering a
smile and important things like hoping, dreaming and imagining…

Congratulations Bronwyn Bancroft!
Great news was announced in Reconciliation Week that Bronwyn Bancroft
is the inaugural recipient of NSW Aboriginal Creative Fellowship,
an initiative of Create NSW, State Library of NSW, worth $30,000.

As reported in Books and Publishing ...The fellowship supports a First Nations artist to undertake a creative research project engaging with the subjects and materials of the library’s collection. Bancroft will create a new cultural work for both researchers and the general public.  SLNSW Indigenous engagement manager Damien Webb said Bancroft will work with library staff ‘to access and transform collection material into a new body of work, which highlights Bundjalung stories, histories and culture’.

Bronwyn Bancroft is a highly acclaimed fine artist and also a multi-award-winning
illustrator and writer of over 40 chlidren's books. She responded to the Fellowship:
'... The Country Cries for Truth—My love of family and Country drives my passion to record and to document the takeover of our Country viewed through my lens as a Mother, Bundjalung Artist and Writer...The awarding of this fellowship is an
absolute honour and I am humbled to be the recipient.’
