These eight postcards are a selection from the images that are part of the Kids Antarctic Project by Alison Lester.

In 2005 Alison travelled to Antarctica as an Australian Antarctic Arts Fellow on the ice-beaker Aurora Australis.

Every night of her voyage she sent an email to homes and classrooms all over Australia, describing her experiences. Alison asked children to draw their visions of Antarctic and when she returned to her home thousands of pictures were waiting for her.

The kid’s Antartic Art exhibition is a collaboration between Alison and her readers: her colour and design and their drawings.

Profits from the sale of these cards go to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
